Lactic acid bacteria are a natural part of our intestinal flora. These benign, yet powerful, bacteria protect us against intruding bacteria and virus of hostile nature.  The amount of lactic acid is negatively influenced by factors such as

• Smoking, drinking and taking medicine (e.g. antibiotics)
• Pathogenic bacteria (from food sources or airbourne)
• Age (older people often suffer from stomach problems)
• Stress   

The Bio-Culture capsule dissolves in the stomach acid while the lactic acid bacteria are protected by an acid resistant gelmatrix. This gel dissolves as soon as it enters the upper part of the intestinal system, enabling the lactic acid bacteria to carry out their beneficial tasks from that point and throughout the remaining part of the intestine.  

If the lactic acid bacteria are protected in the stomach by an acid resistant capsule, the capsule will remain intact and not dissolve before it has passed through a substantial part of the intestinal tract.  

Resistant strain

Bio-Culture contains two freeze-dried strains of lactic acid bacteria, Lactobacillus Acidophilus (La-2) and Bifidobacterium animalis with gel-forming polysaccarides in a gelatine capsule. The capsule dissolves once it reaches the low pH environment of the stomach, after which the gel-forming polysaccarides form an acid resistant matrix that protects the living bacteria until they reach the small intestine. Here, the matrix dissolves releasing its load of bacterial "warriors"  

Better Effect

Normally, a considerable amount of the lactic acid bacteria would be killed off by the low pH-value of our stomach acid, but Bio-Culture's protective gel-matrix effectively prevents this from happening.  This increases their survivability, and consequently, the efficacy of the preparation. Also, the fact that the lactic acid bacteria are released as far up as in the duodenum, where many pathogenic bacteria exist, improves their effect.  

Protects in many ways

Bio-Culture protects against traveller's diarrhoea on trips to climates where one is exposed to foreign bacteria types. By bolstering your intestines defence with Bio-Culture, starting a few weeks before you leave, you will be significantly better protected against traveller's diarrhoea. Bio-Culture also offers protection against the inevitable loss of lactic acid bacteria that occurs as a result of taking antibiotics. Bio-Culture may be of benefit to sufferers of irritable bowel syndrome, bloating and stomach discomfort often seen in older people, and can have a positive effect on recurrent vaginal thrush. Improvements in the condition of skin, and in general wellbeing have been reported with Bio-Culture.  

Product Information :   Freezedried cultures of the lactic acid producing bacteria: Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium animalis (4 billion live bacteria)  Energy, protein, carbohydrates and fat, negligible.  

Directions. 1 capsule 3 times daily or as directed by a physician. Swallow the capsules whole with some water.
