Lecithin is a fatty substance found in many foods and also manufactured in the body. It is a good source of choline a B vitamin. Lecithin helps the liver and gall bladder to deal with fat and cholesterol.

In the liver lecithin promotes the breakdown of fats (lipids) and acts as a fat emulsifier.
