Cholesterol is a waxy fat like chemical, an essential component of certain hormone, digestive acids and body structures produced naturally by the liver. Excess cholesterol may lead to coronary heart disease causing blocking of the arteries. HDL is good cholesterol because it removes cholesterol from circulating blood. To maintain a healthy lifestyle including monitoring cholesterol levels, it is essential to know both the total and HDL cholesterol levels.
This home screening product enables the user to estimate both total and HDL cholesterol.
A small blood sample is required for each test in order to produce a chemical reaction. This results in the production of a visible colour developing, allowing direct reading of the test result using scale detailed on to the test platform.
