Black Cohosh is a tall herbaceous plant with feathery racemes of white blossoms which being slender, droop gracefully. The root is collected in the autumn and dried to form the extract. It was once known as 'Squaw Root' by the North American Indians.
Black Cohosh is the common name for the perenial plant Cimicifuga racemosa, native to
North America
. It has demonstrated positive effects upon the psychological and atonomic symptons caused by the menopause and has been used in
Germany
for this reason for over 40 years. It is postulated that Black Cohosh has a modulating effect upon the hypothalamus centre in the brain which controls body temperature.
The extract in Kira Black Cohosh is called Ll 182. It is extracted from the rhizome of Cimicifuga racemosa after the fruit has ripened. The extract is analysed by sophisticated analytical techniques to ensure that the extract Ll 182 and the Black Cohosh tablets made from this are of a consistenly high standard. A number of beneficial effects of Black Cohosh have been described, including: Increased motivation, decreased tiredness, a reduction in hot flushes & sweating and improvement in sleep.
Directions for use:
Do not chew, but swallow whole, 1 tablet daily with a little cold liquid at meal times

equivalent to up to 54mg of the fresh herb.
