A large proportion of the human brain is made up of long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCP’s). These fatty acids play an important role in brain cell function, nervous system development and vision. Although essential fatty acids can be obtained through our daily diet and converted by the body into LCP’s, it is often difficult to maintain an adequate supply.
With its unique combination of fish oils and evening primrose oil, Efalex provides a perfectly balanced combination of omega-3 and omega-6 LCPs. An adequate intake of these fatty acids will help maintain all aspects of brain and visual function, notably learning ability, concentration as well as co-ordination.
Efalex contains fish oil carefully selected for its quality, purity and high DHA content, as well as Efamol evening primrose oil.   

DHA is the most abundant omega-3 fatty acid in the brain, and is an essential constituent of nerve cells. Cells in the retina of the eye also contain a very high level of DHA, vital for maintaining eye function.   

Numerous research studies have demonstrated that a combination of the fatty acids DHA and AA is important in helping to maintain brain and eye function.   

EFALEX CONTAINS:
• The specific long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids DHA and AA, building blocks of the brain, nervous system and eye.
• EPA and GLA fatty acids involved in the production of prostaglandins, hormone-like substances which are involved the transmission of messages between nerves

• Children and adults with a low dietary intake of long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids   

Fatty acid deficiency has been found in some individuals with Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD/ADHD), Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. These deficiencies could be a result of difficulty with the metabolic conversion process. The fatty acids present in Efalex bypass this first step since they are already in a form the body can use and metabolize further.   

Suggested Daily Intake:   Adults and children aged 5 years and over : two teaspoons (10ml) daily with food or drink. Children aged 2-5 years : one teaspoon (5ml) daily with food or drink.

 If taking the product for the first time, amounts should be doubled for the first 12 weeks. Ideally the amounts should be taken half in the morning and half in the evening.

Nutritional Information. Per teaspoon (5ml): Natural source Vitamin E 20mg (30iU) 200% RDA, Fish Oil 560mg, providing - Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) 120mg, EPA 33mg, Arachidonic acid (AA) 10.5mg, Evening primrose oil 211mg, providing - GLA 24mg, Thyme oil 0.4mg.
